Ujmani Dam

The Ujmani Dam, built in 1979 on the Ibar River, is Kosovo’s tallest dam at 101 m, forming the largest reservoir in the country—Ujman Lake (11.9 km²). It powers a 35 MW hydroelectric plant and supplies water for energy, agriculture, and cities. Straddling Kosovo and Serbia, it holds strategic importance and has been central to regional water discussions. The dam also supports recreation, biodiversity, and cross-border cooperation efforts.
